Can a worm or trojan get through a hard drive partition?

Matters which one and if you have a virus scan or some sort of firewall on it. Like admin on a partition. I test hard drives out on my system for people who have had bad viruses. I have been able to remove all the viruses and trojans without getting any on my hard drive. Hate to say it, but all computers need internet security and other programs running to help protect everything if you want to use the computer. I use panda internet security, very cheap and does great. Awsome at not letting things on the computer and cleaning other peoples hard drives. Does spam and virus protection.

If you are not protected well enough just going online can let all kinds of viruses in. Get a decent AV, Trend Micro PC-cillin or Norton to prevent this. The free AV's like AVG are just not secure enough.
yes. a virus can spread depending on its type. there are different kinds that can do different types of damage. so your answer is yes it can.
Yep
yeah and some can take over the partition.
Just like taking candy from a baby.

Keep smiling
You mean if you copy a trojan or worm from one partition to another, or if it copies itself? Yes, especially if your on an administrative account. If you password the other partition (using NTFS Technology) and give yourself a limited account to use when doing everything but installing stuff, you protect yourself a little bit.
Yes, it can. A hard drive partition is just a logical division of the hard drive. There's nothing physical separating the two partitions.
